Jam Orange is a locally based, not-for-profit, volunteer-run organisation dedicated to strengthening our musical community. Our mission is simple: to support and enrich the music scene for all stakeholders — musicians, audiences, venues, and educators alike.

We need more hands on deck. While we have a dedicated core crew who keep things moving, we’re looking for fresh faces, new ideas, and helping hands to share the load and grow our impact.

One BBQ can make a real difference. It could fund a concert, cover an insurance bill, help us buy essential backline gear, or support a local artist’s next recording project. The possibilities are endless — limited only by the imagination of our incredible musical community.

Our Aims

At Jam Orange, we are committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive musical community. Our key objectives include:

• Creating Opportunities to Perform: We organise and promote a range of regular musical events — from festivals and concerts to jam sessions and open mic nights — that bring people together through music.
• Empowering Local Venues: We actively support and encourage local venues to host live music by providing promotional assistance and helping build connections with performers.
• Developing Musical Talent: We help musicians grow by offering workshops and mentoring in areas such as performance, songwriting, recording, lighting, video, and other production techniques.

·       Community & Collaboration: We recognise that we’re not alone in our mission. There are many like-minded organisations in the region, and we see great value in collaborating, learning, and growing together. By sharing ideas, resources, and opportunities, we can collectively strengthen the cultural and musical fabric of our community.

Our Approach to Funding

Yes, we do seek funding — and we’ve been fortunate to receive support in the past. However, the grants and sponsorship landscape is competitive and ever-changing. That’s why we also rely on grassroots fundraising efforts.

Something as simple as running a Bunnings BBQ can make a real difference. The proceeds from one day of sausage sizzles can cover the costs of a community concert, allowing us to focus on creating great musical experiences without being weighed down by financial risk.
